Toulon – French melodic death metal act AKIAVEL is preparing to drop its new EP ScelestVs on May 22 through Verycords. The band, already responsible for four studio albums, has chosen this moment to unveil a video clip for the track Dance With Monsters. The move gives fans an early taste of the material that will arrive in just a few days.
Four Albums and a Fresh Direction
AKIAVEL has spent years refining its sound in the melodic death metal lane. The group’s previous releases established a reputation for blending aggressive riffs with melodic hooks and strong vocal presence. With ScelestVs the band continues that approach while introducing new textures that reflect its ongoing evolution. The four-piece lineup remains unchanged and continues to deliver the tight performances that have defined the band’s catalog. Each member brings distinct experience to the project, resulting in a cohesive unit that moves easily between heavy passages and atmospheric moments.
Meet the Musicians
Aurélie Soudey handles lead vocals and shapes the emotional core of the songs. Christophe Falzei supplies the guitar work that anchors the band’s signature melodies. Gérard Perez locks in the low end on bass, while Nicolas Muller drives the rhythms from behind the drum kit. Together the musicians have crafted material that balances intensity with accessibility. Their combined efforts have already produced four albums, and the new EP shows no sign of slowing that creative momentum.
ScelestVs Tracklist
The five-song collection opens with Blood Is My Mirror, which is already available to stream on Bandcamp. Split Smile and Say My Name follow, each offering its own blend of melody and aggression. Dance With Monsters arrives with an accompanying video clip now live on YouTube, and the EP closes with a live recording of Daddy Defiled Me. Listeners can expect a concise yet powerful statement that highlights the band’s strengths in a compact format. The inclusion of a live track adds an extra layer of energy drawn directly from recent performances. The video for Dance With Monsters has already begun circulating among metal fans, giving an early glimpse of the visual style that accompanies the new music. With the official release date only days away, attention now turns to how the full EP will land when it reaches listeners worldwide.
