The Australian black metal band Faustian has confirmed the arrival of its first full-length album in several years. Titled Parable of the Sewer, the record is scheduled for release on July 24, 2026, through Apocalyptic Witchcraft Recordings. The announcement arrives alongside the premiere of the opening single Broken Better, giving listeners an immediate sense of the material to come.

A Return Shaped by Experience

Faustian formed in Melbourne and has operated with a focused lineup that draws on years of activity across the extreme metal scene. The group released the EP We Come as Angels in 2023, marking its most recent output before this new album. That earlier work established a foundation of raw intensity and thematic darkness that the band now extends across eight tracks.

Core members include drummer David Haley, guitarist Matt Wilcock, and vocalist Sam Bean. Bean maintains parallel commitments with The Antichrist Imperium, The Berzerker, and Werewolves, yet the project remains centered on Faustian’s distinct voice. The new album reflects a deliberate step forward after the EP cycle, with the band emphasizing atmosphere and narrative cohesion over previous efforts.

Early Access to the Material

Broken Better serves as the first public preview and appears as the second track on the album. The song is already available for streaming, offering a direct window into the sonic direction. Listeners can expect the same blend of aggression and mood that defined the 2023 EP, now expanded across a longer format.

The full tracklist has also been shared, revealing a sequence that moves from direct confrontation to broader philosophical territory. Titles such as Cephalophore and The Rot Shall Inherit The Earth suggest continued exploration of decay, identity, and moral ambiguity.

Complete Tracklist

  • I Curse You
  • Broken Better
  • I Want The Ride To Begin Again
  • Immaculate
  • Cephalophore
  • We Do Not Use Names Here
  • Tenements (Only The Wicked Walk In Circles)
  • The Rot Shall Inherit The Earth

Looking Toward July

With the single already circulating and the release date set for late July, Faustian has positioned Parable of the Sewer as a clear milestone. The album arrives at a moment when the band’s collective experience across multiple projects can inform a more refined yet uncompromising statement. Fans of the Melbourne scene and black metal more broadly now have a concrete date to anticipate the full record.
